About Paul Steele

True North Sober Living was founded by Paul Steele and shaped by his own experience in recovery. Having personally lived in sober living, Paul understood the value of a safe and supportive environment—but he also believed there could be a better way.

Paul wanted to create a home for adults who genuinely desire recovery and are ready to take responsibility for their own lives. Create a Home residents would be proud to tell people they lived at. At True North, lasting change is not pursued by overwhelming residents with unnecessary rules. Instead, it is encouraged through reasonable structure, personal accountability, genuine support, and the freedom to make healthy decisions.

Residents are expected to remain sober, participate in recovery meetings, respect the home and one another, and actively pursue personal growth. Beyond those essential expectations, True North strives to create an environment where residents feel trusted and supported as they rebuild their lives, strengthen their spiritual foundation, restore relationships, and rediscover their purpose.

Recovery transformed every part of Paul’s life and became the foundation of the work he does today. Through True North, The Paul Steele Podcast, his book "The Law", and his involvement in the recovery community, Paul hopes to remind others that their past does not have to determine their future.

True North is more than a place to stay. It is a community for people who are ready to move forward—one honest decision, one responsible action, and one day at a time.
